Tatyana

I've always loved Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin. Its is simply the most beautiful music. Tatyana, the heroine, makes a great leap in the aria here, from a young woman experiencing romance through the books in which she loses herself, to the protagonist in a real-life love affair of her own.

It was a privilege to record this with my friend, the wonderful pianist Marc Verter, who brings such tenderness and virtuosity. Recorded at Lauderdale House in London one sunny Spring Friday afternoon.
