A puppetry tour de force in Act II of Maxwell Davies' Kommilitonen! as the Red Guard officers sing and dance to a listless onstage swing band in piercing tones reminiscent of streetside tannoys. This picture, taken from the wings, is a rare chance to see our hard-working black-cloaked Hands, as us Guards controlled only our little homunculi feet with the puppets strapped around our necks.
